The science of workouts is always changing and improving. Keeping up is actually quite difficult because you will always feel as if you are still sticking to rules that have long been dismissed. So, let’s take a look at the latest rules for getting ripped, the ones you definitely have to follow. Of course, chances are these rules will change again pretty soon, but so far they stand.
1 – Get Your Carbohydrates Right
Long gone are the days where carbohydrates were seen as the big evil-doers. No longer do we have to stay away from carbs and give them the evil eye as soon as we see any near us. However, this doesn’t mean we can just eat any carbs we want to either. It is about having a good carbohydrate strategy.
“It all comes down to using them correctly, not cutting them completely. To get lean, a balance of the right amount of carbs first thing in the morning and after a workout is ideal.”
2 – Get Your Fats Right
Now that most of us know about carbohydrates not actually being all that bad, it seems we have put our collective attention on fats instead. Suddenly, fat is what causes all the problems. However, nutritional scientists warn that the real problem isn’t that we eat fat, but rather that we eat too much fat. This means that there is no need to cut all of the fat out of your diet, but rather that you should eat the right fats (unsaturated) in the right amount.
“Believe it or not, eating more of the right kind of fats will enable bodybuilders to LOSE extra body fat. But, the best new news is that fats can help you build muscle faster and, of course, enhance performance.”
3 – Lower your Fruit intake
Getting rid of fruits may sound like a completely wrong thing to do. Indeed, cutting them out of your diet completely and replacing them with nothing, or with anything processed. is a very bad idea. At the same time, however, fruits are full of sugars, albeit natural ones. This means that they are not the best part of your diet if you are trying to lose weight and/or gain muscle. Instead, you should reduce your fruits with various non-starchy vegetables. Juicing is a great way to get all the nutrients that are available in a vegetable, so invest in a juicer as well.
4 – Get Your Workout Right
The one thing that changes most often in terms of building muscle and losing fat is what sort of workouts you should do. We have gone through program after program of fantastic guru exercise programs that allow us to get ripped overnight, but none of these really work. The general consensus finally seems to be that you should combine strength training with HIIT training. You can burn fat faster and create an everlasting effect on muscle growth.
